Welcome! I am the fourth grade math and social studies teacher at The Academy for Teaching and Learning. This year is my seventeenth year teaching and I love every minute of it! I have so much fun with the students in my classroom practicing skills, making connections, and learning new things. I earned my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Winthrop University in 2004, my master's degree from Walden University in curriculum, instruction, and assessment in 2006, and became a Nationally Certified Teacher in 2009.
I am originally from Georgetown, SC and moved to Chester after marrying my husband in 2006. We have two beautiful daughters and one son who definitely keep us on our toes. I enjoy crafting, organizing, and planning creative ways to help students learn. I love to spend time with my family, read, and vacation at the beach.
Thanks for visiting my site; I hope you find it helpful.
In fourth grade, the subjects are departmentalized, which means the students go back and forth between two classes. Throughout the day, my homeroom class will also work with Ms. Hope, my next door neighbor and partner-in-teaching to have fun in reading/language arts and science.
